A spitting image of her sire she is extremely eye-catching, with beautiful looks, great conformation and true presence.
She possesses elevated movement, a balanced canter and is showing great technique over a fence with natural scope and a loose back end. This mare is extremely exciting having only recently been started under-saddle and having her first jumps. She is showing to be a brave, careful mare whom enjoys jumping. A blank canvas showing all the right attributes to be produced into a future star.
Castalea is currently been ridden by professional trainer Sam Mynott and will be available for trial rides by appointment at her base in Te Awamutu, New Zealand.
Castalea has been DNA verified and microchipped. She has a passport and has been registered with the New Zealand Warmblood Association.
Sire: Eros K
His sire Eros K was twice ESNZ jumping stallion of the year. Imported from Ireland into New Zealand Eros K was a successful world cup jumper and was well known for his scope, bravery, rideability, stunning looks and phenomenal nature.
Eros K unfortunately passed suddenly as he was coming into his prime. His progeny left has been strongly stamped with his best qualities and will be valuable jumpers in the coming years as they continue his legacy.
Sire’s Sire: Guidam
Guidam, has been ranked No.1 in KWPN breeding index and No.1 in USEF jumper sires rankings. He is the sire of 35 Grand Prix and International Showjumpers including Authentic, USA Horse of the Year 2004 and Olympic Gold Medalist – and very much one of the stars of the 2006 WEG in Aachen, Luidam, the 2004 Aga Khan Nations Cup Winner and Liona, ridden by Hervé Godignon who rode Guidam’s sire, Quidam de Revel, to team bronze at Barcelona.
“Guidam possesses, as a stallion, all the genetic qualities of his father Quidam de Revel, but I believe he passes on more rideability to his progeny. The bottom line is that he produces the goods,” says Dutch showjumper and dealer, Paul Hendrix.
In November 2004, Guidam was awarded a ‘Keur’ predicate by the KWPN and was the 2003-2004 leader on the jumping breeding index with an outstanding rating of 171. His stallion sons are at stud in Holland, Germany, United Kingdom, United States and Poland with a high percentage of predicate daughters also at stud.
Dam: LADY LANGEN
Lady Landgen is by Lansing, a sire of multiple champion approved stallions and premium mares. Lady Langden has an athletic build and a great nature. Bred by Golden Grove stud she was a very talented jumper who showed a lot of promise in the competition arena before becoming a broodmare.
Dam Sire: LANSING
Lansing is fully approved and licensed with the Holsteiner Verband, Oldenburg Verband and KWPN. An international Grand Prix showjumper and taken to victory with Bo Kristofferson as a five year old winning the prestigious Bundeschampionart (German National Showjumping Championships).
Lansing is a producer of Champion approved stallions,State Premium mares and Premium foals and has produced the record holder Leading Chief for the top priced unapproved stallion. He has a number of sons and daughters competing in sport.
More recently in the Dutch town of Zwolle where the best stallions in jumping and dressage are found at the beginning of the year, Lake Bid, a son of Lansing was named best Holsteiner. Lake Bid was also 2001 Grand Champion Holsteiner stallion.
Lansing is from the same mare and thus a half brother to the superstar stallion, Calvin Z, who has produced world champions at both age group levels and Grand Prix levels. His dam, Monoline, is also the dam of progenitor,Cantus, who sired the legendary showjumping gold medallist winner, Calvaro V and the stallions Come On, Callido 1, Callido 11 and Cascavel.
Dam Sire’s Sire: LANDGRAF I
Landgraf I is considered by warmblood breeders across the globe to be one of, if not THE, Stallion of the Century. Of all the Ladykiller sons, Landgraf I was able to assert himself the best. He is the most successful sire of show jumpers the world has seen. He has produced 130 approved stallion sons, who are active in every breed association in Germany and many of Europe and US breeding associations.
General screening x-rays of horses in the Quality Sport Horses Dispersal Auction were acquired by Matamata Veterinary Services on the 16th and 18th of March 2021.
A declaration of health for all 12 horses and x-rays (of yearlings and older excluding the broodmare) are available upon request.
When a request for has been received by Equus Auctions it will be passed on to Matamata Veterinary Services who will then send the x-rays directly onto the prospective bidders chosen veterinarian. This information is confidential and will only be sent to a qualified veterinarian for examination.
