Baby Eros is an exquisite mare with a phenomonal nature. Four white socks, full blaze and lovely conformation makes her an absolute eye-catcher who will excel as a sport horse. She has lovely, elevated movement, is athletic off the ground and is brave clever free jumping with a very expressive hind end.
Baby Eros is ready to be started under-saddle and begin her future as a competition horse.
Baby Eros has been DNA verified and microchipped. She has a passport and has been registered with the New Zealand Warmblood Association.
NB: Baby Eros has windsucked occasionally.
Sire: Eros K
His sire Eros K was twice ESNZ jumping stallion of the year. Imported from Ireland into New Zealand Eros K was a successful world cup jumper and was well known for his scope, bravery, rideability, stunning looks and phenomenal nature.
Eros K unfortunately passed suddenly as he was coming into his prime. His progeny left has been strongly stamped with his best qualities and will be valuable jumpers in the coming years as they continue his legacy.
Sire’s Sire: Guidam
Guidam, has been ranked No.1 in KWPN breeding index and No.1 in USEF jumper sires rankings. He is the sire of 35 Grand Prix and International Showjumpers including Authentic, USA Horse of the Year 2004 and Olympic Gold Medalist – and very much one of the stars of the 2006 WEG in Aachen, Luidam, the 2004 Aga Khan Nations Cup Winner and Liona, ridden by Hervé Godignon who rode Guidam’s sire, Quidam de Revel, to team bronze at Barcelona.
“Guidam possesses, as a stallion, all the genetic qualities of his father Quidam de Revel, but I believe he passes on more rideability to his progeny. The bottom line is that he produces the goods,” says Dutch showjumper and dealer, Paul Hendrix.
In November 2004, Guidam was awarded a ‘Keur’ predicate by the KWPN and was the 2003-2004 leader on the jumping breeding index with an outstanding rating of 171. His stallion sons are at stud in Holland, Germany, United Kingdom, United States and Poland with a high percentage of predicate daughters also at stud.
Dam: BABY DOLL
Baby Eros is out of the outstanding imported mare Baby Doll. A fantastic jumper herself with a huge amount of scope Baby Doll is a valuable breeding mare with proven bloodlines combining Aldatus Z and Clover Hill, a well-known, winning combination in Ireland. Baby Doll was imported into NZ from Ireland as a 4 yr old, she competed successfully through the grades until injury put her in the brood mare paddock.
Dam Sire: ALDATUS Z
Aldatus Z is a very good winner in CSIO . In 1994, he was European Vice-Champion for Individual Young Riders with Christian Ahlmann. He also won the “Sires of The World”. In 1995, he was Dutch Champion under the saddle of Jos Lansink. He also won the World Cup stage in Monterrey. In 1996, he was classified in the GP of Aix-la-Chapelle, Calgary and St Gall. He is 2nd in the Rotterdam Nations Cup.
He notably produced the very good international winners Penelope (Jeffrey Welles) winner of many Grands Pris in the USA, Abba Z , GP winner with Judy-Ann Melchior, Loro Piana Hamlet very good international winner with Guy Williams, A la Ballerina very good international winner with Katharina Offel, Aldatus Son Daonjo winner in GP in Brazil, Hamlet Van St. Maarten CSI, Jacqueline CSI, Marone CSI, Wilywonty finalist of the 7 years old World Championship … as well as the NLS stallions Coole Al Clover , Champion of the World of 6 years, Ovidius (Peter Geerink) father of good winners in CSI, Aledo, Kingstone.
Aldatus Z has sired many international jumpers and approved sires who will leave their mark in years to come.
Dam’s Dam Sire: CLOVER HILL
Clover Hill’s achievements as a sire were outstanding; he ranked 4th in the 2001-2002 WBFSH showjumping rankings, with 39 offspring jumping at International levels.
In Irish, US and UK top sporthorse pedigrees, Clover Hill’s name crops up with amazing frequency. The level of influence that he has had on the quality of the Irish Sport Horse is the equivalent to that of a Cor de la Bryère or Ladykiller in Warmblood breeding; his blood flows in almost all of the great showjumpers of his era, and continues to be reflected in the success of subsequent generations of showjumpers and eventers.
General screening x-rays of horses in the Quality Sport Horses Dispersal Auction were acquired by Matamata Veterinary Services on the 16th and 18th of March 2021.
A declaration of health for all 12 horses and x-rays (of yearlings and older excluding the broodmare) are available upon request.
When a request for has been received by Equus Auctions it will be passed on to Matamata Veterinary Services who will then send the x-rays directly onto the prospective bidders chosen veterinarian. This information is confidential and will only be sent to a qualified veterinarian for examination.
