Win and annual subscription to The Wild Horse Masterclass with Chloe Phillips-Harris, valued at $540. Learn valuable language & communication skills that are the fundamentals of all further training.
For a lot of people, horse body language can be very hard to read, their cues can be subtle and nuanced. Now with thousands of hours of experience behind Chloe Phillips-Harris, she is happy and confident in her approach to start sharing her knowledge with a growing community of wild horse lovers. These lessons are the cornerstones of many equine problems and can be applied across a range of situations. The course will help you develop key communication skills and a better understanding of horse behaviour. This applies to all domestic horses also. You will go from completely wild, then onto the first touch, to handling, haltering, and leading. There is also a range of groundwork skills, like float loading, hoof care lessons, tying up, and lifting the feet.
The Wild Horse Project was started in 2010 to document and share the journey of Kaimanawa horses as they went from wild to tame and share horse behaviour and training tips. It was to show that wild stallions in particular, once thought dangerous and untrainable had a place as domestic horses. These days we work with all sorts of wild horses, mares, stallions, foals and everything in between, both from the Kaimanawa Ranges and the Far North. We aim to help save as many horses as possible and are often involved in the mustering as well, with as many as 50 wild horses coming through our gates each year.
