Chicago ECPH is a lovely modern type with a fantastic nature and plenty of quality. He has three powerful paces, a great jump and is a beautiful horse to have around. He has been professionally started under saddle by Logan Massie and is ready to further his ridden career. “Chicago was very easy to start being an intelligent horse with a sensible brain. He has had extensive driving and has hacked happily all around the farm by himself and in company. He has jumped under saddle also and was brave, correct and gave you a great feeling.” – Logan Massie.

By New Zealand’s supersire Corofino ll, who is the sire of the sensational Windermere Cappuccino, who has won multiple World Cup Series, and McCaw MVNZ, who is campaigning very successfully in America at 1.50m level. Chicago’s dam line is equally as strong combining Pionier, Oldenburg and Joost, all super sires of the modern sport horse. His grand dam is the mother of Mr Blue, one of modern showjumping’s most influential sires with progeny including the likes of Zirroco Blue VDL.

Sire: Corofino II

Corofino II is from an internationally successful family by the champion sire Corrado I.

Corofino II has an outstanding European jumping record with 10 wins and placings at international level. He has also won and placed at National 4* level. He came to NZ with a total of 28 wins and 105 placings. He jumped over 90% clear rounds and continued that form here winning World Cup Qualifiers with Katie McVean.

His family includes his brothers Corofino I, sire of Russell and Corlato (Olympians); Camiros (Grand champion at approvals); his mother’s brother, top ranked sire Coriano (by Corrado); his mother’s sister’s son, the very popular Crawford (by Corrado); and also directly from this family is Diarado (also Grand Champion at approvals).

Corofino II has had many internationally successful progeny, some of his most well known here in New Zealand include Windermere Cappucino who was the winner of the World Cup Series multiple times in recent years, and McCaw MVMZ who is now campaigning very successfully in Canada and America at 1.45m+ with Katie McVean.

Dam: Picarla

Picarla is a career broodmare who combines some incredible bloodlines which have resulted in her producing multiple grand prix jumpers overseas prior to her arrival in New Zealand. She comes from an incredibly strong dam line, her mother Acarla was a phenomenal broodmare herself who most notably produced Mr Blue. Mr Blue was a World Cup jumper and an Olympic Games mount who also bred many fantastic offspring including one of modern jumping current most popular sires Zirroco Blue VDL.

Picarla’s world class bloodlines include Pionier, Oldenburg and Joost. Their names can be found in the pedigree of countless international jumpers.
