Lafayette CSNZ is a 2009 broodmare by Lansing (Landgraf I) out of the thoroughbred mare Quality Rose xx.

 

Lafayette CSNZ was a very successful competition mare having enjoyed a great showjumping career up to 1.35m level, with many wins and placings in the age series classes through to seven-year-olds and in the Pro-Am series in New Zealand. She has a huge heart being a fantastic mare whom always tried her best and loved to win. A compact type with lots of blood and excellent technique over the fence, she was a careful jumper who would always fight for a clear round. She is registered, DNA verified and assessed with ‘Merit Award’ in the NZWA Studbook. She was viewed by their German Assessor who said she was a ‘typey feminine mare’ and scored her 8.0 for overall type.

Lafayette CSNZ was bred by olympic eventer Clarke Johnstone. She is by Lansing who is a very prominent sire in New Zealand sport horses who’s most well known progeny include Olympic jumper Casebrook Lomond. Lansing was a beautiful grey stallion of very correct type with good movement and extraordinary jumping capacity with the ability to leave these qualities in his offspring.  Lansing daughters are particularly sort after and his contribution to New Zealand Show Jumping is nothing short of  phenomenomal. Lansing is also from the same mare and thus a half brother to the superstar stallion, Calvin Z, who has produced world champions at both age group levels and Grand Prix levels.

 

Lafayette has produced two superb foals of strong, athletic types with excellent canters and good size. She was retired from competition after incurring a ligament injury while jumping in wet conditions.

Dam Sire: LANSING

Lansing is fully approved and licensed with the Holsteiner Verband, Oldenburg Verband and KWPN. An international Grand Prix showjumper and taken to victory with Bo Kristofferson as a five year old winning the prestigious Bundeschampionart (German National Showjumping Championships).

Lansing is a producer of Champion approved stallions,State Premium mares and Premium foals and has produced the record holder Leading Chief for the top priced unapproved stallion. He has a number of sons and daughters competing in sport.

More recently in the Dutch town of Zwolle where the best stallions in jumping and dressage are found at the beginning of the year, Lake Bid, a son of Lansing was named best Holsteiner. Lake Bid was also 2001 Grand Champion Holsteiner stallion.

Lansing is from the same mare and thus a half brother to the superstar stallion, Calvin Z, who has produced world champions at both age group levels and Grand Prix levels. His dam, Monoline, is also the dam of progenitor,Cantus, who sired the legendary showjumping gold medallist winner, Calvaro V and the stallions Come On, Callido 1, Callido 11 and Cascavel.

Landgraf I is considered by warmblood breeders across the globe to be one of, if not THE, Stallion of the Century. Of all the Ladykiller sons, Landgraf I was able to assert himself the best. He is the most successful sire of showjumpers the world has seen. He has produced 130 approved stallion sons, who are active in every breed association in Germany and many of Europe and US breeding associations.
